James Caan

Pełne imię i nazwisko: James Edmund Caan. Urodzony w 1940 roku w dzielnicy Bronx w Nowym Jorku.
Umięśniony i zagmatwany człowiek, którego życie i kariera aktorska miała wiele upadków i wzlotów. Uzdolniony sportowo Caan grał w football na Uniwersytecie Michigan, gdzie studiował ekonomię. Otrzymał czarny pas karate a przez kilka lat uczestniczył czynnie w ujeżdżaniu koni; gdzie dostał przydomek: "Jewish Cowboy"(ze względu na pochodzenie). Aktorstwem zainteresował się podczas studiów na Uniwersytecie Hofstra.
Za rolę w "Ojcu Chrzestnym" dostał nominację do Oskara w kategorii najlepszy aktor drugoplanowy.

Z ciekawostek:
Francis Ford Coppola chciał zaangażować go do roli Sonniego w "Ojcu Chrzestnym". Wytwórnia Paramount bardzo chciała obsadzić go w roli Michaela, po wielu próbach i po pojawieniu się Al Pacino zaniechano próby obsady aktora w tej roli i ku radości Coppoli Caan zagrał Sonniego.
W latach 1990- tych aktor porzucił kokainę, którą zażywał około 20 lat.
